In March 2016, a viral photo showed a female plane passenger whose long ponytail hung over the back of her seat and completely covered the TV of the man sitting behind her.
The man seated behind this oblivious woman was Dante Ramos, who happens to be a columnist for the Boston Globe. He snapped a photo of his obstructed view, then posted the infuriating yet humorous image on Twitter with the following caption:
“Congrats to the ponytailed young woman in seat 22B. You’ve invented a whole new way to be awful at 35,000 feet.”
The photo was met with many jokes from people who said they’d snip off the ponytail if they could. Others criticized Dante for shaming the woman, rather than politely asking her to remove her hair from his TV.
